Nia is a celebration of life. It is a unique magical way to connect with your body, your mind and your spirit in joy, love and compassion. Journey for Joy is honored to return to the Luna Lodge for its third year to practice Nia in the sacredness of the rainforest and in the beautiful lodge Lana has created. Being surrounded by primary and secondary rainforest is amazing, taking the time to practice Nia, Yoga or any mind, body, spirit technique surrounded by primary rainforest is transforming.
Journey for Joy chooses to return to the Luna Lodge for many reasons, one of the most important is having time to understand and value the importance of the Corcovado Park located on the Osa Peninsula. I hope you will choose to join us on this celebratory transformational Nia retreat at the Luna Lodge.

Yoga at Luna Lodge with Tama Soble & Monica Voss
April 6 - 13, 2011
Our destination in Costa Rica is the Osa Peninsula at the southern tip of the country. National Geographic has deemed the Osa "the most biologically intense place on earth"!
Nestled high up in this pristine rainforest overlooking the pounding Pacific Ocean lies Luna Lodge, a heavenly sanctuary dedicated to the pursuit of yoga, meditation and the preservation of our natural world.
Nowhere else in the world is the environment so untouched. This is the last frontier. One feels as though it is the beginning of all existence.

Monica Voss has been studying yoga for over 25 years and teaching since
1981. In addition to co-owning and teaching at Esther Myers Yoga Studio in
Toronto, Monica conducts workshops, retreats and teacher training in Canada,
the U.S., Great Britain, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Tama Soble has been practising yoga since 1984. Her work is deeply
influenced by her 17 years of experience with modern dance, contact
improvisation and Body-Mind Centering. Tama co-owns and teaches at Esther
Myers Yoga Studio.
Our accommodation is cut dramatically out of a jungle mountainside and consists of a towering central rancho, lovely, cosy bungalows with thatched roofs, and sleeping tents tucked in amongst the foliage.
The rancho houses the open-air dining room as well as a platform for bird-watching, star-gazing or simply swaying in a hammock. Meals consist of home-grown organic tropical fruits, vegetables and herbs. Friendly, knowledgeable staff are available for activities such as rain forest hikes, and bird and animal viewing. There are nearby waterfalls with cool wading pools and combing the Pacific beach is awesome and invigorating. Massage is readily available and a swimming pool is a new and glorious addition.
Our practice space is the open platform jutting out over the rainforest. The
peace and serene majesty of this place enhance the union of body, mind,
spirit and nature. We will practice yoga and meditation twice daily to the accompaniment of howler monkeys and scarlet macaws.
Adventure awaits. Please join us!
