Lana Wedmore
Lana Wedmore - owner and operator

I had a dream and I have made it come true with the help of my family, friends, and loved ones.

"Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it, boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now."
  -Goethe

My whole life I have worked in the service business and almost always in the out-of-doors. I feel better when I can breathe fresh air and look at the greenery. I have taught skiing in Colorado, taught sailing in Australia, lead bicycle tours in Vermont, and guided tours in Costa Rica.

I came to Costa Rica for the first time 30 years ago and ever since that time, I knew I wanted to live here and have my own lodge. A seed was planted and a dream was born. The Peninsula de Osa had captured me. The wildlife, the natural beauty of the scenery, the peace I felt when I looked at the rainforest, and the wildside of the isolation all intrigued me to live here. I wanted to preserve and protect a part of this amazing rainforest. My goal today is to educate the people about the rain forest and to protect the Peninsula de Osa while we still can.

For many years, I had the opportunity to work for a well-known tourism company here in Costa Rica. I first worked in sales, then as a guide, then as an assistant manager and later became manager at one of their eco-lodges. My experience and guidance encouraged me to pursue my own dream. I saw the importance of the Peninsula de Osa and I wanted to be involved in the healing of our Great Mother Earth. I began to understand the significance of ecology and that all living things are inter-related. We have built the lodge so that it harmonizes with the environment. It looks as if it is part of the tapestry of the forest.

I want to thank all of my incredible family, friends and loved ones, because if it were not for all the support, understanding, and love from these people, my dream, Luna Lodge, would only have been a dream. I would like to send my love to all of those who helped this dream come true. The list is unending and they are literally all over the world.

Leaf Texture I would like to leave you all with this special quote:

"It appears to me that people who succeed have an incredible drive to do something. They spend the energy to take the gamble. In this world, relatively few people are willing to take a large gamble. If you find someone who is, listen carefully; you may end up helping achieve a dream of amazing proportions."
